It’s all in the details! And there are many on this simple but mighty sconce. The hand hammered repousse work of the rectangular backplate is trimmed with an oval delineation. The candle wielding branch sports complementary repousse work seen in the bombe of the bobeche. Under the bobeche, a distinguishing knuckle leads to a reeded strapwork collar securing the lovely curl to the backplate. Sometimes what appears simple can be much more than catches the eye.
